Estimates and expenses

Estimates are given in writing and/or verbally at the time of arrangements to provide an indication of the charges likely to be incurred on the basis of the information given at the time of arrangement.

While we make every effort to ensure the accuracy of the estimate, the charges are liable to alteration particularly where third parties change their rates or charges; we will make it clear which charges are likely to change.

Deposits

A deposit of 50% must be made towards the cost of the funeral being arranged.

The deposit must be made at the time of arranging the funeral, if this is not practicable, it must be made seven calendar days before the date of the proposed funeral with full payment 3 working days prior to the funeral; we reserve the right to postpone the funeral if the deposit is not paid.

Payment of final balance

We will issue the final account invoice digitally via email, or physically through the post if preferred, within seven working days from the date of the funeral.

As the client and/or the account signatory, you assume sole responsibility for settling the account.

The final account balance must be settled within 3 working days of funeral date.

We accept payments in cash, card (credit and debit), and BACS payments.

Assistance with payments

We will not offer any financial assistance to clients with regard to paying any deposit required.

We will not offer any financial assistance to clients with regard to paying the final account balance.

If your circumstances change or you find yourself unable to make the payment in full within the time period, you must contact us immediately to discuss your options.

DWP Funeral Expenses Grant

If you are making a claim to the DWP (SF200 Form) towards the payment of an account, you must inform us at the time of making arrangements, or as soon as possible.

The DWP is a means tested grant toward the funeral costings, and while we can advise you of the criteria which would potentially make you eligible for the claim, we will not assist in any way with the completion of the paperwork, or be liable if a claim is not granted for any reason.

The DWP will not pay the full amount of the funeral account, therefore you will be responsible for paying the remaining balance after the funeral grant has been issued, or the balance on the funeral account if no claim has been granted.

If a DWP grant is being used towards the pre-payment amount, 50% of the balance once the DWP payment has been taken in to account will be payable prior to the funeral taking place.

Collection of Cremated Remains

Cremated remains (the ashes) will only be released by us to the named client, and after the account balance has been settled in-full.

Order of Service Sheets

All orders will be sent to client for proof checking, and we require final sign off in good time to allow time for printing and delivery prior to the funeral date. It will be the responsibility of the client to proof-read and check for any mistakes. Any errors or changes made after the client’s approval will will incur re-print costs.
